Wild boar ground meat is rich and juicy. These might be the best wild boar burgers ever! Easy to prepare. Delicious with apples and blue cheese. Make dinner for 4 in less than an hour.
Substituting traditional ground pork with ground wild boar can significantly enhance the flavor of nearly any dish.
Ingredients:
500 g. gound wild boar
1 tb. ketchup, chili sauce, or barbecue sauce
1 tb. tomato sauce
2 small onions chopped
4 burger buns
Olive oil
2 apples
50 g. blue cheese
Lettuce
Cooking Method:
In a bowl, work the wild boar ground meat with your hands or a fork.
Divide the meat into 4. Roll each in a ball. Make them 1 cm thick and slightly larger than the buns you are using. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Sauté onions in a bit of oil until soft.
In a small bowl, mix the sauces together. Set aside.
Halve the buns, toast them or warm them in the oven for a few minutes.
Meanwhile, heat a splash of oil in a large non-stick pan over a medium-high heat and fry the burgers for about 4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through, seasoning well as you go.
Build the burgers by spreading the sauce on the warm bun bases. Slice and add the apple, then the burger, sauteed onions, and top with blue cheese and lettuce. Top with the bun.
Serve with fries, and a salad.
